Sting Ray
This animal has very few enemies but when threatened it will lash its tail to and fro, slashing with its stinger, stabbing it enemy. This fossil is 36 inches long with a 20 inch wingspan!
Barnacles
As adults, these animals "glue" their head to a hard surface and remain in that spot for their entire lives
Sea Urchins
A sea urchins shell is called a "test". They have no brain but 5 very sharp teeth. Can you guess where there mouth is?
Sawfish
The snout resemble teeth on a saw. But does he use it like a saw? This fossil is 32 inches long
Sand Dollars
These animals are rarely seen alive. They have no predators--TOO CRUNCHY!! And they are related to Starfish and Sea Urchins.
Sponges
These primitive animals can be ground up in a blender, strained through a closth and put themselves back together again!
Seahorse
It has the head of chess peice, eyes of a chameleon and the tail of a monkey! This animal is not a horse but actually a true fish. Know why?
