Freguently Asked Questions
1) I ran a day care center. Can the infants & toddlers watch the show?
All shows presented by The Creature Teacher  are designed for children 3 years of age and older.  We realize that as a parent or instructor you would like to see all children to participate in our show.  However, our shows are way too advanced for an infant or toddler so for the health and safely of your child as well as our animals, children under 3 years of age  are excluded from watching the show and/or touching the animals for the the following reasons:

* they tend to have high, shrill voices and sudden movements that will scare the animals.
* content of shows is too difficult for their level  of comprehension  and attention span is at a minimum
* they tend to pull the animals hair and tails rather than gently petting with one finger
* they are unable to use hand sanitizer on their own or sit criss-cross applesauce.
* it is not fair to allow some children to touch the animals while others do not

We appreciate your cooperation on this matter and should infants and toddlers be present at your party, school or scheduled event please make sure they have an age appropriate activity to occupy them during The Creature Teacher show and they in a separate area AWAY from the show area..
Please inform your party guests of this rule so it is not a surprise at the time of the show. Thank you

2) The birthday child will be 2 years old. Can we still book you for a birthday party?

The Creature Teacher does not book  shows for a  party where the birthday child is under the age of 3 years old. Even if the other children are of touching age, the birthday child will be excluded from the activity  and will not feel special after seeing the other children touching the animals. Please pick an activity more appropriate for a 2 year old birthday, like a clown or train.
3) I don't know which animals to pick. Which ones do you recommend?
All of the animals are appropriate for all age groups. There is no one animal that works the best for one particular age or boys/girls party. I usually recommend choosing a variety of animals so all children will want to touch something. Our Popular Picks show is always interesting, fun and enjoyable for all audiences.
4) I know the birthday child can have his picture taken holding an animal at the end of the show but can I take pictures during the show as well?
Flash photography and video taping  is allowed throughout the show but please be respectful of The Creature Teacher and the animals by using your zoom lens whenever possible instead of getting too close. The birthday boy or girl may have their picture taken holding one animal at the end of the show. Should you wish for all children to hold an animal at the end of the show we do have photo session packages available for an extra fee. For more details on photo sessions, click here.
5) In the event of an emergency, what is your cancellation/rescheduling  policy?
Here at The Creature Teacher, we realize life is unpredictable and for some unforeseen reason you may need to cancel your scheduled show. You may cancel without penalty fee however we do ask that you give us as much prior notice as you possibly can so that we may give your spot to someone else who may have been turned down after you booked your show.

The Creature Teacher also assumes you will show us the same courtesies as we too are human and have unexpected circumstances therefore we do reserve the right to cancel a show due to severe illness, death in the family and hazardous or unsafe weather/driving conditions (such as near by tornadoes, severe hail storms, flash flooding). In this event, all efforts will be made to reschedule your show at the earliest date and time available.

If you need to reschedule your show, we will do our best to accommodate you  and ask that all rescheduling be done by phone. Please do not email us with this important information as email is at times unreliable. Thank you.
6) Can the birthday child be your assistant?
Due to the special skills and knowledge required in handling exotic animals, The Creature Teacher will not allow  the birthday child (or any child) to help out with holding or showing of the animals. Again, for the safely of all children, The Creature Teacher will be the only one handling the animals & their crates during the show.
7) Can The Creature Teacher add a facility or park, etc, to its insurance policy?

If you are planning on reserving a spot at a public park or community center for your childs birthday party and that facility requires their name to be added to The Creature Teachers insurance policy, we are unable to accommodate this request. We can fax them a copy of the existing policy but we cannot add additional  persons or facility to that policy. The Creature Teacher recommends checking with the park or community center about its insurance policy requirements before booking a show with The Creature Teacher at such facility.
