The following policies and general information will make The Creature Teacher show a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone at your party, school, library or special event. Please read the following and make any necessary preparations prior to the show.
For large assembly group shows stages are not preferred unless absolutely necessary. A ground floor spot in front of the audience is best.
Choose a quiet, secluded spot free of distractions, numberous decorations and noises. Play rooms, playgrounds and gymnasiums are not preferred.
SIZE LIMITS: Birthday parties-15 children or less for 3 to 5 year old parties, 20 children or less for 6 year old and up.
Schools, libraries and other events- for a small group sit down show where children may touch all of the animals, no more than 40 children are permitted. For sit down assembly shows, you may have up to 300 persons. All audience members will touch one animal at the end of the show.
INFANTS & TODDLERS MAY NOT ATTEND THE SHOW. All Creature Teacher shows are designed for children 3 years of age and older. Infants and toddlers are not mature enough to follow the rules and create a distraction for the other children present at the show due to their loud noises and tendancy to wander. Please have a separate area away from the show for children younger than 3 years of age.
Shows must be held indoors during the following months: December, January, February, July and August due to adverse weather conditions. NO EXCEPTIONS. Shows may be held outdoors during the rest of the year but please provide a spot in COMPLETE SHADE for animals and humans and not an area directly in the sun. Tents are not preferred as the provide shade accoring to where the sun is and not directly underneath the tent. If weather dips below 65 degrees or rises above 90 degrees or if it is rainy or windy, please have an indoor back up area ready. Thank you.
Please unplug bounce houses. Their noise is distraction and difficult to speak over. Please arrange for The Creature Teacher show to be in a separate area away from bounce houses or you may simply unplug them during the show.
NAMETAGS. It is very helpful for me to be able to address every child by his or her name. Please put nametags on all children for birthday parties and small group shows. Nametags are not needed for Touch Table events and large assembly style shows.Thank you.
Any households pets that roam freely (dogs and cats etc.) should be confined during the show so they will not scare or badger The Creature Teacher critters.
If you notice that a child is a roamer, please ask that child to sit down within the circle. It is very distracting to the show and the other children when one child feels he does not have to go by the same rules as the others. Please have chidren under 3 years of age sitting with an adult guardian for constant supervision. If a small child is not able to sit through the entire performance, please allow them to wander with their parents at the back of the room away from the main program. Thank you.
Children will be asked not to scream, yell or make loud noises. Please make sure children sit down for the show with empty hands. This means no food, toys, goody bags, hats etc.
Animals are NOT permitted on restaurant property. If you are having a party or event at a restaurant, I will not be able to perform an animal show at that location. Cafetorias and auditoriums not serving food is acceptable.
The Creature Teacher is unable to add a public facility such as a park or community center to our insurance policy. We can fax or send a copy of our existing policy to that facility but will not be able to additionally name them on our policy. If you plan on holding your party at a public facility please inquire about their insurance policy requirements before booking The Creature Teacher for your event.
If you do not have a microphone (hands free preferred), please let me know and I will bring my own set up.
Flash photography and video taping is permitted however we do ask that you respect the animals and performer by not getting too close. Please use your zoom lens whenever possible.
Payment in full is required at least 2 weeks in advance of show date. All shows are subject to cancellation if payment is not received at this time. Payment can be made either cash, check or money order. Please make checks payable to The Creature Teacher. Credit cards are NOT accepted. There will be a $75.00
non-refundable fee for all cancelled shows.
Tipping is not mandatory however it does show your appreciation to your entertainer for giving a quality performance and for delivering goods and services to your event. Standard tipping rate is 15%.
CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
There will be a $75.00 non-refundable fee for all cancelled shows.
If you need to reschedule your show, we will do our best to accommodate you and ask that all rescheduling be done by phone. Please do not email us with this important information as email is at times unreliable. Thank you.
